Join us in helping schools in Western NC become hubs of resilience, healing, and innovation!
This year, we're actively seeking support to expand our impact for The WNC Resilience Project.
WNC Resilience Project
The WNC Resilience Project is a region-wide movement helping Western North Carolina’s schools transform crisis into opportunity. Rooted in student voice, community strength, and learner-centered innovation, this three-year initiative brings together educators, leaders, and partners to co-create a future where resilience and possibility go hand in hand.

An Invitation to WNC School Districts
The WNC Resilience Project isn’t a program to implement. This is a collaborative invitation. Becoming an Anchor District means joining a regional learning network that honors your existing strengths while providing flexible, deeply supportive infrastructure. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, this work evolves with your goals, pace, and community needs.
Districts start small with a 1–2 school focus, receive seed funding and coaching, and build on what’s already underway. Whether your focus is experiential learning, mental health, community partnerships, or credentialing, you’ll have the tools, thought partnership, and support to lead bold, manageable innovation that lasts.
Partnership & Support
The WNC Resilience Project is powered by a coalition of mission-aligned organizations including Open Way Learning, SparkNC, Education Reimagined, and the Public School Forum of North Carolina. These partners provide coaching, facilitation, tools, and behind-the-scenes support, while districts retain full ownership of their work.
This project is made possible with generous support from The Leon Levine Foundation.
